Banner for School Verse - 2011-2012

Each year for the past 5 years, a group of students has made a piece of artwork to represent our school verse. The verse for this year's banner was the most challenging verse students have worked with. One of the reasons might be that we don't think of God as delighting in us. We don't think of him as rejoicing over us let alone with singing. We're used to doing the singing. We don't look to God to quiet us. We are too busy worrying and stressing.

In our artwork, we used a scroll as the background to show that these words do come from God's Word, the Bible. They aren't just words.

Each student made an origami box. These origami boxes have been placed around one of the 5 statements made in this verse. Each box contains an image that gives a window into understanding the words.

Around and in the boxes are origami doves symbolizing the peace we can feel when we realize that God is with us, delights in us, can quiet us and even rejoices over us with singing.

In the center is the most important promise, the center of this verse - "The Lord your God is with you". All of the other parts of this verse surround this basic fact and show us what God is doing as he is with us.

We hope that our artwork will remind you the God is with you, he is might to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, and he will rejoice over you with singing. Take comfort and rejoice the he is.
