The students motivate me each day. It’s a blessing to be able to be such an important part of their lives, especially in their spiritual growth. It’s also a lot of fun being a teacher because you are constantly learning and trying new things. Every day is a new experience. I love the people I work with at West Side Christian School. They are not only encouraging and supportive, but a lot of fun! I also enjoy the parents who love God, their children, and the school -- without them, my work would not be possible. Lastly, I love the freedom to pray and talk about Jesus. Not everyone works in a community such as this. I feel truly blessed. I have three main goals for my students: first, to grow in the Lord; second, to enjoy learning; third, to try new things- food, genre in books, multiplication/division, make new friendships, and much more. Outside of school, I love traveling around the world -- I’ve been to Kenya, Japan, Honduras, and Italy. I also love the outdoors. I run and bike a lot and do races (even triathlons once in a while). I also like to kayak and be by the water. I volunteer at the ballet regularly and enjoy going to concerts. My favorite food is sushi, but spaghetti is a close first.
